Art Therapy Activity: Self-Esteem Tower

Image
"A victory relies more on attitude than apitude." Having a good attitude is one of the most important things I can do to increase my self esteem.  Being on time (accountable) is one of my flaws that i'm currently working on so any triumphs feels like an increase on self esteem.  SELF-ESTEEM TOWER Materials: Drawing paper, markers, oil pastels, and magazine photos. Procedure: Participants are instructed to create a tower of methods to enhance feelings of self-worth. They may design it using markers and/or pastels and add magazine photos if desired. They may use line, shape, form, and color to create their own unique image. Discussion: Clients share their constructions and specifically what they need to increase their self-esteem. They examine realistic goals and methods to attain them. Questions such as: “What type of environment do you need to feel content?” and “What type of relationships do you need in your life?” ...

Daily Art Journal Prompt : Daisy Yellow's "Windows"

Image
Prompt #2: Windows  The prompt today is to cut a window in paper.  Using an x-acto knife against a fabric cutting board, cut a window in an index card or cardstock. If you have a rotating blade, try curves or waves. Place the window on top of various backgrounds to see what you like best behind your window. Experiment with paint or pattern on the "frame" and on the area behind the frame. Or cut a window in one page of your journal to see through to the next page. Another way to interpret this prompt would be to draw a window, including the view that you see through the frame. Interpretation mouth, pathway to the soul versus the eye. but as seen in the photo there is an eye inside the mouth so perhaps the the pathway to my soul is hidden away..out of sight.

Whispering Oaks A secret hiding space lies behind the right (suppose to be a brick wall foundation). It was encircled by thick bushes ~ no one could see behind the bushes when you sat down. It was an amazing spot I used to hang out for hours when I was in 3rd & 4th grade. My new friend did this one (shes amazing too) ^_^ art by: tosh combs
